History/FAQ's
| What is PDR? Paintless Dent Repair- or what is commonly referred to as PDR- is the process of removing minor dents, door dings, and automobile hail damage with the use of custom made tools designed to work behind the vehicles panels. This allows a highly skilled PDR technician to gently massage and reshape the metal back to its original condition without the need- in most cases-for bondo and repainting. PDR allows the customers vehicle to preserve its original factory paint finish, which is extremely important. Once a vehicle has been painted, it not only voids the original factory warranty on the paint finish, but it also diminishes the value of the vehicle. In the case of automobile hail damage, that can be a severe financial loss that the insurance company will not compensate you for when you collect on your insurance claim from a hail storm. PDR is an extremely important method in preserving the appearance of your vehicle, as well as the value. PDR is the preferred method of repairing those unsightly blemishes, verses going the more traditional route of a body shop- not only for the reasons mentioned above, but also because [in most cases] the repair can be done while you wait instead of waiting days to weeks. PDR eliminates the possibilty of incurring messy overspray, poor quality paint work, poor color matching, etc.- something most of us have experienced before. PDR saves you time and money compared to conventional body shop repairs. The consumer awareness of Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) has increased significantly over the past decade through the use of car dealers, auto leasing companies, car rental companies, and insurance companies; this is because late model vehicles use more flexible metal and more paint resilient finishes. In fact, the primary procedure paid for by insurance companies today is PDR. PDR is an excellent alternative on vehicles that were produced after 1990 with small to medium size dents, without broken or cracked paint, damage that is not located near the edge of the panel, and as long as the panel has had no prior body damage repair with bondo. |
